Foundation Design is Critical!
All of the loads from the framing of the structure must be carried down from the roof to soil through a properly designed foundation. Lateral Pressures caused by soil placed against a foundation are also critical, particulary for deep basements. Such forces can damage a foundation unless they are given proper consideration during the design process.
